Quality is a process, not luck. A clear quality control approach protects your brand, reduces returns and keeps customers happy. Here is a practical quality control checklist for fashion accessories.
Setting the standard before production
Quality control starts before production, with an agreed, documented standard, usually an approved sample. This sealed sample is what production is measured against. Without an agreed standard, quality is subjective and disputes are inevitable. Set it first.
What to inspect on accessories
Inspect construction, decoration, sizing, materials and finishing against the standard. For accessories, pay particular attention to category-specific points, decoration registration on caps, knit evenness on beanies, edge finishing on belts, print quality on scarves. Know the failure points of your product and check them.
How AQL and sampling work
For larger runs, inspection often uses AQL, a statistical sampling approach that checks a representative sample to judge the whole run against an acceptable quality level. It is a practical way to assure quality at volume without inspecting every single unit.
In-line, final inspection and handling rejects
Inspecting in-line during production catches issues early; final inspection before shipping is the last gate. Agree up front how rejects and rework are handled. Engelite controls quality on every run against a documented standard. If quality matters to your brand, see how we do it.
