Sampling is where your product becomes real, and where quality and fit get locked in before you commit to a run. Understanding the process helps you give better feedback and reach a sellable product faster. Here is how it works, step by step.
Types of samples
There are usually a few sample stages. A first or proto sample tests the concept and construction. A fit sample confirms the measurements and fit. A pre-production sample is the final sign-off that production should match. Each stage checks something specific, and skipping stages is where problems slip through.

The proto sample answers whether the product can be made the way you imagined. The fit sample answers whether it fits and sits correctly across sizes. The pre-production sample is your final approved standard. Knowing what each stage is for helps you focus your feedback where it counts.
How to give clear, useful feedback
Good feedback is specific. Rather than saying a sample feels off, identify exactly what to change: this brim is two millimetres too wide, this colour is slightly too warm, this stitch should be tighter. Specific feedback gets you to a right sample in fewer rounds.
How many rounds to expect, and signing off
Expect a round or two of refinement on most products, more for complex ones. When the sample is right, you sign it off, and that approved sample becomes the standard production must match. Engelite samples every product and refines it until you are happy. Nothing goes to production unapproved.
