What a tech pack is
A tech pack is a specification document for a single product. It translates your idea into the precise, technical detail a factory needs: measurements, materials, colours, trims, construction, decoration and finishing. Think of it as the recipe. Without it, you are asking a manufacturer to guess, and guesses are where products go wrong.
What it contains
A good tech pack covers the measurements and how the product is graded across sizes, the materials and trims with their specifications, the colours and how they are matched, the branding and decoration with placement and method, and construction and finishing notes. For accessories it also captures the details specific to the category, like a hat's brim and crown or a bag's handles and hardware.
Why it prevents costly mistakes
The tech pack is what makes your product consistent. It prevents the sampling chaos of a manufacturer interpreting a vague brief, and it means your reorders match because the spec is documented. A small investment in getting the tech pack right saves the much larger cost of a production run that comes out wrong.
Tech packs for accessories specifically
